| News | | | | Tuesday, April 29, 2008 | | | District of North Vancouver, installs the Polara Model X. | | | To help keep up with the growing concern for accessiblity for pedestrians with disabilities, the District of North Vancouver has installed the Model X at one of its controlled crosswalks. This technology provides pedestrians with an added warning message through its internal speaker. "Cross street with caution vehicles may not stop" This message minimizes the false sense of security when crossing the street. The District of North Vancouver is testing this particular crosswalk and with the already positive feedback recieved from many, hopes it will add more Model X systems to other crosswalks in the near future. | | | | Back To Last Page |
